Hotel Elephant launches a free Art & Design Saturday Club for local 13–16-year-olds
As part of the National Saturday Club network, local young people can now apply to join the Art & Design Saturday Club at Hotel Elephant. The programme starts in early November 2025 and will offer a unique opportunity to explore creativity, build skills and discover potential career paths in the textiles and creative industries.
About the club:
Do you want to enrich your design and making skills in the world of sustainable textiles? Join us for a 15-week program taking place in two parts in the Autumn and Spring terms, where you will be taught by educational tutors from industry to enhance your creativity, confidence and skills in Textiles.
Digital Marketing & Communications Assistant
Hours: 2 days per week (part-time)
Pay: £27,000 to £28,000 pro rata

Hotel Elephant is a not-for-profit workspace provider based in Southwark, with over 14 years of experience delivering workspace, exhibitions, events, and educational spaces in the Elephant and Castle area. Our goal is to provide and safeguard long-term space for arts, culture, and creative enterprise in London.
Our workspace offer includes studio spaces for artists, makers and creative entrepreneurs, along with our coworking space, Spare Street Works, which provides flexible desk and office space for individuals and small teams.
This role spans both workspace identities, ensuring consistent and strategic digital marketing and communications that grow audiences, strengthen brand presence, and connect our communities.
Role Purpose
We are seeking a Digital Marketing & Communications Assistant to support our team in delivering engaging, creative, and consistent digital content across all online platforms. This role will play a key part in growing our audience reach, enhancing brand awareness, and driving engagement and space occupancy through social media, SEO, email campaigns, and website content.
The position will work closely with the wider team to help maintain high occupancy levels across studio, office and desk space through marketing activities, such as:
Create, schedule, and publish content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Update and maintain website content (e.g., studio and workspace listings, SEO-optimised blog posts, event listings).
Support the design and delivery of email marketing campaigns and newsletters, including copywriting, layout, and list management.
Contribute ideas for digital campaigns and content that align with Hotel Elephant’s and Spare Street Work’s brand voice and marketing goals.
Assist in producing content such as reels, graphics, and other visual assets using design and video-editing tools (e.g., Canva).
Monitor, track, and report on social media and campaign performance using analytics tools, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Support SEO and digital growth strategies for both Hotel Elephant and Spare Street Works, including monitoring Google Search Console, Google Ads, and implementing updates in line with Google’s latest algorithms.
Work strategically to implement campaigns with clear KPIs, including generating consistent new inbound enquiries, follower growth and improved search rankings.
Support the organisation of digital assets, ensuring brand consistency across all channels.
Provide general administrative support to the team when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and current digital marketing trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g., Canva and CapCut).
Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team.
Experience and knowledge of SEO, with the ability to independently implement strategies to grow reach and visibility.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
Desirable Skills
Experience with email marketing and CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot).
Knowledge of website CMS (e.g., Squarespace).
Familiarity with scheduling platforms such as Sprout Social.
Interest in arts, culture, and creative practices.
Experience with Google Ads and analytics tools.
