Located within our St John's Walworth Studios building in Elephant & Castle, our spacious former school hall is available to hire for rehearsals, workshops, research and development, devising, castings, movement work, community projects, and other creative activities.
The space is particularly well-suited to theatre companies, dancers, performers, directors, choreographers, live artists, production teams, and those working across the performing arts and wider creative industries.
At approximately 900 sq ft, the hall provides a flexible open-plan environment suitable for rehearsals, movement-based practice, script development, teaching, workshops, and collaborative creative projects. The space benefits from high ceilings, natural light, and a practical, adaptable layout that can accommodate a wide range of rehearsal and studio configurations.
Located in Central London, a short walk from Elephant & Castle Underground, National Rail and Thameslink stations, the space offers excellent transport connections for performers, production teams, and collaborators travelling across London and the South East.

Full day (8 hours): £380
*Minimum hire: 4 hours/half day. Half days must be either: 9 am - 1 pm or 1 pm - 5 pm
Out-of-hours hire: £75 per hour
Weekends: £150 per hour (subject to availability)
Film, TV & commercial location hires: £150 per hour
Multiple days and longer-term hires are available.
Discretionary discounts may be available for Hotel Elephant members, local community groups, arts organisations, educational activities, and projects with charitable or social benefit.
