Reuben Powell at the Mall Galleries!
Our very own Reuben Powell’s work has been selected to be among the artworks exhibited, with his work ‘Oil Tanker I, Fawley Refinery’ as part of the Mall Galleries’ Royal Society of Marine Artists Annual Exhibition. The exhibition runs from the 30th of September to the 10th of October (10:00am - 5:00pm).
Members Profile: Candy Ward
We interviewed Hotel Elephant studio member Candy Ward about her ceramics. She creates functional work centred around celebrating women’s soft bodies. Candy began working with ceramics during her BA in Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins, since then she has developed her own unique style. She explores themes of body dysmorphia and eating disorder through clay based on her own personal experience. She hopes people can gain confidence and love for their own bodies through seeing normal bodies represented in her work, challenging mainstream representation of the female form.
