Covid Secure - Guide For Coworking Members

Hotel Elephant has conducted a Covid risk assessment looking at our different spaces to ensure we can maintain a Covid secure working environment. Our Coworking spaces in Arch’s 1 & 2 are fairly small, so occupancy rates are already low and, as we are located in two separate arch’s, you will not be sharing large lobby areas of lifts with high numbers of different people as is common in larger multi-occupancy office buildings.

We recommend our members familiarise themselves with this guide to ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all.

Travelling to and from the coworking Space

Consider walking or cycling to work where possible. There is plenty of space for locking your bike at Spare Street and we are conveniently located for many local members to be able to walk to work. If you need to use public transport, you are required to wear a face mask on TFL services unless exempt.

Hand Hygiene Is Important

Wash/sanitise your hands regularly, particularly after entering and leaving the Coworking space and after touching frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, printers etc. Hand sanitiser and hand wash is provided throughout the spaces.

Keep A Safe Distance From Others

To avoid overcrowding in entry and exit points, please remain a safe distance (ideally 2 metres) away from others when entering and leaving the Coworking space. You may need to stand to one side to allow for someone to pass.

Inside The Coworking Space

Clean and wipe down surfaces regularly, with a particular focus on spaces you spend the majority of your time, such as desk spaces. Also include door handles and other frequently touched surfaces. You will find cleaning products available in the kitchen and meeting spaces for you to use.

Inside your shared office space

All our office units are self-contained, which means office users are working in isolated spaces with only their team members, with a maximum capacity of 6 people in each office. Where possible and appropriate we would recommend that you arrange your space so you can work apart from others and implement back to back or side by side working.

Kitchens and Communal Areas

Good hygiene is an important tool to keep the coworking space Covid secure. Keep kitchen and other communal areas clean and tidy. Wash up your crockery straight away and wipe down surfaces regularly with the cleaning products provided. Consider bringing your own dedicated cups, plates and cutlery to avoid sharing with others.

Conduct Meetings Online where possible

Consider whether your meeting could take place virtually instead of in person. By limiting the number of in-person meetings to only those that are essential, you will be helping to limit the spread of Covid-19.

We have a meeting space above our cafe, available for coworking members to use at Spare Street.

There is hand sanitiser and cleaning products available to use in the meeting space. Please ensure your visitors follow the Covid secure guidelines and ask your visitors to stay at home if they become unwell.

Wear A Face Mask When ordering in the Cafe

Please remember to wear a face mask or covering when ordering at the counter in our cafe, Sidecar Coffee Bar. Please also wear a face mask when inside and not eating or drinking.

Stay At Home If Your Feel Unwell

If any workspace members or Hotel Elephant staff are suffering from Coronavirus symptoms they must take a test and isolate if required.

Please be aware of the main symptoms of Coronavirus:

  • high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

  • new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.

Anyone with a positive Covid-19 test result must self-isolate. It is now possible to end your self-isolation after 7 days instead of 10 if you have two negative lateral flow tests.

Those that are suffering from flu or cold symptoms, but have received negative Covid - 19 test results may also want to consider working from home to avoid infecting others.
