This month's Crafty Fox Talk will cover a tricky and regularly requested topic: IP protection. Illustrator Alice Tams (Birds in Hats) has had her fair share of experience with the subject and will recount her experiences with businesses small and big thus far, sharing the many lessons she has learnt along the way. Lawyer Gavin Llewellyn (Senior Associate with Stone King and ACID Partner), who represented Alice against Sainsbury's throughout 2015, will be on hand to explain the legal intricacies of creative IP, when to act and what you can do to try and prevent it happening to you.
Gavin Llewellyn is an intellectual property lawyer at Stone King LLP in London specialising in design law and brands. He is the President of the Intellectual Property Commission of the international lawyers’ association the ‘UIA’ (‘Union Internationale des Avocats’) and a Legal Affiliate of ACID (Anti Copying in Design).
Alice Tams is an illustrator best known for her ever expanding project 'Birds in Hats'. From her messy studio in Bermondsey she sells her illustrated stationery and giftware in shops throughout the UK, Europe & Australia, online and at events around London.
The talk will take place at Hotel Elephant's new artist's studio's and creative space on Spare St, close to Elephant & Castle station. The bar will be open for refreshments. Registration is from 6.30pm and the talks will begin at 7pm.
