Christina Cushing

Christina Cushing (b. 1995) is a Thai-British artist based in London. Using eye-tracking, video game engines, and computer-generated imagery, she explores the intersections of perception, image, language, and time to unravel contemporary ways of seeing. Her most recent project ‘SACCADES’ incorporates a custom-built eye-tracking headset into video, sculpture, and prints.

Selected exhibitions include: Veils of Impermanence at Gossamer Fog (2024), Gathering Mythologies at Hypha Studios / Netil House (2024), DEADTIME II at The Crypt Gallery (2023), Cosmic Coincidences at French Riviera (2022) and solo show ANTICLIMAX at Two Queens Leicester (2018). Her work has featured in live programmes such as Nervous Systems at ICA (2024), DIGI-GXL: CTRL Your Future at The Institute of Coding (2019), and Affinity at Nottingham Contemporary (2015). In 2023, Cushing was featured in the January edition of Ignota Book’s Full Moon Journal.

In addition to her artistic practice, Cushing has worked with curatorial teams at DAZED, 180 Studios, and ICA. She was an original co-founder of arts project space Chaos Magic, under the mentorship of artist Joey Holder. Her writing has featured in DAZED Digital and Transformer: A Rebirth of Wonder published by The Vinyl Factory.
