  • Small Commissioning Program – Graduate and emerging artists commissioned to make new work.

  • Public Platform Access Scheme – Free exhibition and performance space made available monthly to practitioners that engage with Southwark’s communities.

  • Affordable performance and exhibition space available for non-venue based practitioners.

THE CREATIVE ENTERPRISE PROGRAM

The Creative Enterprise Program is a key part of our offer at Spare Street. The focused of this program is to support recent graduates, emerging artists and creative startups to establish a successful enterprise in Southwark.

The program provides workspace users with FREE professional development support, plus high quality public events and opportunities through our Small Commissioning Program and Public Platform Access Scheme. 

 

Mentors 

Patricia Van Den Akker - Director, The Design Trust 

Patricia delivers practical, inspirational expert training for a wide range of creative business support organisations, businesses and universities across the UK and abroad.  

She works with audiences who want to learn how to start & run their own design or craft business, and include design & craft graduates and alumni, startups, creative and social entrepreneurs, mumpreneurs and highly experienced creatives, organisations and policy makers.

She has worked with 100s of small creative businesses in the last 15 years, and is an expert in creative business development, planning, business models, marketing and selling.

Rosalind Davis - Artist & Curator 

Rosalind Davis is an artist, curator and a graduate of The Royal College of Art (2005) and Chelsea College of Art (2003).  Davis is the permanent Curator at Collyer Bristow Gallery and her exhibitions (Complicity and Telling Tales) at the Collyer Bristow Gallery have both been reviewed by Art Top 10; ‘Cracking Show. Superb Artists. Brilliantly curated.’ 

Davis is co-author of ‘What they didn’t teach you at art school’ commissioned by Octopus Books is available in the UK and internationally.

Davis lectures at universities, galleries and arts organisations across the country including the Royal College of Art, ICA, Camden Arts Centre. University of the Arts and Artquest.

She teaches workshops and creative workshops across the country as well as short courses in social media marketing and arts management at UAL.
